It’s been a couple of years since Western Ranges Motorcycles took out the top spot in the Harley-Davidson® Marvel Super Hero Customs competition but we still hear feedback on the bike that featured in events and mags across the country, so here’s a closer look at the build.
Harley-Davidson® Dealerships across Australia and New Zealand were given the opportunity to be part of the Super Hero Customs Competition. Take part and you’d be allocated a Harley-Davidson® Model, a Marvel Superhero Character and a trait for inspiration, then it was over to the dealership to build a bike fit for their hero.
Western Ranges Motorcycles took up the challenge and drew the Harley-Davidson® Breakout®, the Superhero Black Panther and the trait Pride. The team went straight to work on the design and overall concept to create a bike that would reflect Black Panthers distinctive armour and sleek stance.
The Breakout® arrived and in just over a month was transformed into the Black Panthers ride. Key elements of the build were;
- Custom Paint
- Heartland Fender Kit
- Fat 50 Wheels
- PM Brakes
- Bassani Exhaust
- Harley-Davidson® V-Rod Fairing
- Custom Console
- Front and Rear Air Suspension
27 bikes were created across the country, professionally photographed and submitted for judgement. The competition winner would be decided by a combination of public votes and a panel of judges. After being chosen as one of eight finalist bikes to be displayed at Oz Comic Con in Sydney, Western Ranges Motorcycles was named the overall winner.
